The difference between aluminum alloy and carbon steel of tank trailer
The advantages of aluminum oil tank trailer compared with carbon steel oil tank trailer:
1. Light weight and greater load mass. The self-weight of carbon steel oil tank trailer is generally around 10 tons, while the weight of oil tank trailer can be as low as 6.6 tons. Ordinary carbon steel tanks have a load of more than 8 tons.
2. Lower operating costs. Because the aluminum alloy tanker has a lighter weight than the carbon steel tanker, it reduces fuel consumption and tire wear during transportation, thereby reducing daily operating costs and maintenance costs. Studies have shown that about 60% of the fuel used in oil tank trailer is consumed by the oil tank trailer's own weight. For every 1 t reduction in the quality of the oil tank trailer, the fuel consumption can be saved by about 6 L per 100 kilometers.
3. The quality of oil transportation is good. After the aluminum alloy forms alumina on the surface, it will not rust for several years of use, which directly guarantees the quality of the oil transported. Once the carbon steel oil tank trailer stops for a long time, the inside of the tank will rust immediately, which is easy to contaminate the oil.
4. The conductive performance is safer. The use of aluminum alloy tanks helps to conduct the static electricity generated during the loading, unloading and transportation of oil products in time, reducing the probability of accidents. From the perspective of driving safety, the aluminum alloy oil tank trailer has a small inertia during collision, the braking distance is reduced, and the plastic material has less impact on the human body, so it will be safer.
5. The product has a long life and low maintenance cost. Aluminum alloy has the advantages of good corrosion resistance, which is more obvious in the tank body that mainly transports effective strong corrosion items. Therefore, the direct benefit to customers is that the service life of aluminum alloy tanks is greatly extended compared to steel tanks.
According to the experience of Europe and North America, the life cycle of an aluminum alloy tank is generally 15-20 years, while the life of a steel tank is only 7-9 years. At the same time, due to the good corrosion resistance of the aluminum alloy, the aluminum alloy tank can maintain a bright and beautiful appearance, and the surface is more beautiful; and does not require any coating or surface treatment, the cleaning is very easy, so the maintenance cost of the aluminum alloy tank truck is quite small.
